Job Description

 

The Multimedia Communications Officer will be responsible for coordinating dynamic multimedia content that supports PACT’s campaigns and awareness campaigns, with a focus on the activities under the Adaptation Fund Coastal Project and other climate finance initiatives. Following PACT’s and the Adaptation Fund’s branding guidelines, the MCO will be tasked with guiding the design and development of a wide range of visual assets, such as graphics, videos and other digital content. In collaboration with departments and units across PACT, the MCO uses storytelling and other relevant techniques to translate PACT’s work into relatable content for various audiences and platforms. Additionally, the MCO may serve as the point of contact for service providers, coordinating and ensuring the timely delivery of products and services. The MCO also coordinates administrative and logistical details for the coverage or organizational activities through photography and videography and manages and maintains a comprehensive archive of multimedia assets and an inventory of audio-visual equipment.

 

The MCO will undertake the following specific responsibilities:


Multimedia Production

    • Support the Communications and Marketing Unit in conceptualizing, executing and coordinating the development and design of engaging multimedia content for various channels and audiences.
    • Support the Communications and Marketing Unit in brainstorming and developing projects and activities for communications and marketing campaigns.
    • Coordinate the capture and editing of high-quality photos and videos of project and organizational events, field visits, and other engagements to support communications and marketing activities.

 


Public Engagement

    • Lead in communication and awareness building initiatives related to the Adaptation Fund Coastal Project and other key PACT climate financing initiatives.
    • Assist the Communications and Marketing Unit in liaising with media partners to enhance visibility and build public awareness of PACT’s programs and work.
    • Liaise with service providers and relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of products and services.
    • Assist with updating of PACT’s website and social media accounts, ensuring a visually appealing and user-friendly experience.

 

 Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate administrative and logistical procedures to support the production of multimedia content.
  • Collaborate with departments and units across the organization to translate the work of the Adaptation Fund Coastal Project and other PACT initiatives into engaging and relatable media content
  • Provide support to departments and units in using multimedia equipment and software and troubleshooting issues as they arise.




Asset Management

  • Manage, organize, and catalogue a library of digital assets, including images, videos, and audio files.
  • Support the Communications and Marketing Unit in managing an inventory of audio-visual equipment and promotional items.

The Multimedia Communications Officer will be expected to deliver the following:



Annual Work Plan

    • Purpose: To provide a clear work plan for each fiscal period during execution of the Adaptation Fund Coastal Project.

Monthly Activity Report

    • Purpose: To provide a clear summary of communication and awareness building initiatives undertaken as per the approved annual work plan.

      • Recommendations for Improvement

 

Annual Activity Report

      • Purpose: To provide a summary of all major achievements and impact of communication and awareness building initiatives undertaken to be highlighted in PACT’s Annual Report.
      • Contents:
        • Summary of Activities
        • Impact Results
        • Media Support (Photos, Video, etc.)

4. Reporting Structure

The consultant will report directly to the Communications and Marketing Manager.



5. Qualifications and Experience 



Education

  • Associate Degree in Graphic Design, Media Production, Marketing, Communications or related field.
  • Asset: Certification Training in Digital Marketing; Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Media Production, Marketing, Communications, or closely related fields.

 

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in graphic design, communications, media, digital marketing or creating multimedia content.
  • Asset: Familiarity with website design, content management systems (e.g. WordPress), or search engine optimization.

 

 Skills, Abilities, Expertise and Knowledge

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative suite or similar software and tools for multimedia production.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of social media management tools.
  • Strong understanding of basic multimedia production principles, including industry-standard practices and global trends in multimedia design and content creation.
  • Demonstrated understanding and use of storytelling techniques.
  • Ability to generate creative and innovative idea.
  • Experience in using artificial intelligence in multimedia production and development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing tasks and priorities.

 

The selected national consultant must be independent and free from conflicts of interest in the responsibilities accorded to them.


6. Duration of Contract

The contract is expected to run for a period of three (3) years.

 

7. Application
